TV and violence

aggressor effect:
tendency for people who watch many hours of TV to behave violently

fearfulness: TV heightens fear of becoming
a victim of violence

bystander effect: people become callous and
desensitized to acts of violence

cyclical effect: aggressive children who watch
a lot of violent TV tend to identify with the violent characters and seek
out more violent TV
