-
Behavioral objective contains content related to
the specific learning experience.
-
Condition
-
Behavioral objective describes the conditions under
which the behavior is expected to occur (e.g. after viewing a video; using
a model of the skeletal system; with an open text book)
-
Standard / Criteria
-
Behavioral objective must specify criteria for acceptable
performance on describing how the learner must perform the task. (e.g.
the student will draw the 6 portions of the food pyramid.)
Example of an objective
-
Student will be able to, during a class discussion,
verbally list three negative effects of smokeless tobacco.
Analysis
of the objective:
-
WHO: students
-
BEHAVIOR: verbally
list
-
CONTENT: negative
effects of using smokeless tobacco
-
CONDITION: during
a class discussion
-
STANDARD: 3
Side
note:
-
Often an instructional objective can be simplified
by being worded like a performance indicator. That is, the learning
assessment would contain all of the elements except the conditions and
the standards. In this case: The students will be able to verbally
list some of the effects of using smokeless tobacco.
