PsychSim Extra Credit

What is PsychSim?
PsychSim is a collection of interactive graphic computer programs designed to enhance learning in a timely fashion thorough participation and demonstration.

What should I do first?
Before you access PsychSim you should go to out class-notes web site (www.yournotes.com) and access the PsychSim section. Next, you should select the worksheet for the module you wish to complete and print it out. Now you are ready to do a PsychSim module.

How do I access PsychSim?
PsychSim can only be accessed from computers that are connected to PSU's computer-software server. The easiest way to find PsychSim is to use the computer's "Find" or "Find File" option. CAC claims that there are other ways to access PsychSim, although students tell me that they are not always successful. I'll list these other ways below:

                                      MAC systems               IBM PC_____
1) Click on:                   "Software"                   "Program Groups"
2) Click on:                  "PSU Courseware"     "Courseware"

Both systems: Next click on "PsychSim 4.0" (you might need to click on "Psychsim.tbk" here). Click on the icon of the module you wish to do

What do I do when I get there?
Select and complete a PsychSim module, performing the tasks described. As you go through the module complete the corresponding worksheet.

How do I know which module to do for credit?
Some PsychSim modules match to course topics. For example, the Cognitive Development module matches our discussion of children's cognitive development. These modules MUST be completed BEFORE the corresponding material is tested to earn credit. Below is chart the shows the correspondence of PsychSim modules to class topics. Other PsychSim modules do not correspond to any course topic and be completed at any time before the final exam for credit.
